     Francis Martineau Lupton was born on 21 July 1848 at Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding, England^G.¹ He was the son of Francis Lupton and Frances Elizabeth Greenhow.¹ He married Harriet Albina Davis, daughter of Reverend Thomas Davis and Christiana Maria Hobbes, on 6 April 1880 at Roundhay, Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding, England^G. He died on 5 February 1921 at age 72 at Low Gables, Chapel Allerton, Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding, England^G.²
     He was member of the Leeds City Council in 1895.¹ He held the office of Alderman of Leeds between 1895 and November 1916.²
