     Sir Charles Dennistoun Burney, 2nd Bt. was born on 28 December 1888.1 He was the son of Admiral Sir Cecil Burney, 1st Bt. and Lucinda Marion Burnett. He married Gladys High, daughter of George Henry High, on 15 March 1921.1 He died on 11 November 1968 at age 79.1
     Sir Charles Dennistoun Burney, 2nd Bt. usually went by his middle name of Dennistoun.1 He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1917.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Uxbridge between 1922 and 1929.1 Between 1923 and 1929 he designed and built the R100 airship.1 Between 1929 and 1930 he built the first rear-engine streamlined car.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Burney, of Preston Candover, co. Southampton [U.K., 1921] on 5 June 1929.1 He was the inventor of the explosive paravane and the protector paravane.1 He designed first recoil-less rifle during the Second World War.1
Between 1946 and 1950 he initiated stern trawling and refrigeration in fishing vessels.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2

     Gladys High was the daughter of George Henry High.1 She married Sir Charles Dennistoun Burney, 2nd Bt., son of Admiral Sir Cecil Burney, 1st Bt. and Lucinda Marion Burnett, on 15 March 1921.1 She died in 1982.1
     From 15 March 1921, her married name became Burney.

     Sir Cecil Denniston Burney, 3rd Bt. was born on 8 January 1923.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Dennistoun Burney, 2nd Bt. and Gladys High. He married Hazel Marguerite Coleman, daughter of Thurman Coleman, on 5 September 1957.1 He died on 19 April 2002 at age 79.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG. He fought in the Second World War, in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserves.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He was managing director and chairman of Northern Motors between 1951 and 1972.1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Northern Rhodesia] between 1959 and 1964.1 He was a director of Security Building between 1959 and 1971.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) [Zambia] between 1964 and 1968.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Burney, of Preston Candover, co. Southampton [U.K., 1921] on 11 November 1968.1 He was a director of Mount Martin Gold Mines from 1985 to 1987.

     Dorset.1 From before 1957, her married name became de Hamel.1 From 5 September 1957, her married name became Burney. She lived in 2003 at 5 Lyall Street, London, EnglandG.1

     Sybil Katherine Burney was the daughter of Admiral Sir Cecil Burney, 1st Bt. and Lucinda Marion Burnett.1 She married, firstly, Arthur Corry Gotto, son of Arthur Gotto, on 29 December 1905.1 She married, secondly, Commander Clive Neville-Rolfe, son of Charles William Neville-Rolfe and Fanny Kunigunda Clive Keppel, on 24 March 1917.1 She died on 3 August 1955, leaving issue.1
     She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 From 29 December 1905, her married name became Gotto. From 24 March 1917, her married name became Neville-Rolfe.
