Robert Michael Oldfield Havers, Baron Havers was born on 10 March 1923.2 He was the son of Sir Cecil Robert Havers and Enid Snelling.3 He married Carol Elizabeth Lay in 1949.4 He died on 1 April 1992 at age 69.2
He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)2 He was appointed Queen's Counsel (Q.C.)2 Robert Michael Oldfield Havers, Baron Havers usually went by his middle name of Michael.2 He held the office of Lord Chancellor between June 1987 and October 1987.2 He was created Baron Havers, of St. Edmundsbury in the County of Suffolk [U.K. Life Peer] on 22 June 1987.1
