     Her married name became Gordon.¹ She was also known as Jean.¹

     Margaret Duff is the daughter of Alexander Duff, 1st of Hatton and Catherine Duff.¹

     John Duff was born on 14 January 1726/27.¹ He was the son of Alexander Duff, 1st of Hatton and Catherine Duff.¹ He married Helen Duff, daughter of Patrick Duff and Clementina Hay, on 26 January 1762.¹ He died on 2 August 1787 at age 60.¹

     Helen Duff was born in 1744.¹ She was the daughter of Patrick Duff and Clementina Hay.¹ She married John Duff, son of Alexander Duff, 1st of Hatton and Catherine Duff, on 26 January 1762.¹ She died after 1793.¹

     Bathia Duff was born on 8 December 1762.¹ She was the daughter of John Duff and Helen Duff.¹ She died on 3 October 1774 at age 11.¹

     Anne Duff was born on 17 February 1764.¹ She was the daughter of John Duff and Helen Duff.¹ She died on 8 April 1775 at age 11.¹

     Mary Leslie married Alexander Duff, son of John Duff and Helen Duff, in 1787.¹
     From 1787, her married name became Duff.¹

     Mary Duff was born in 1788.¹ She was the daughter of Alexander Duff and Mary Leslie.¹ She married Robert Cockburn in 1805.¹ She died in March 1858.¹
     Circa 1797 at age 9, she was loved by the poet Byron, who was also aged 9, and a neighbour.¹ From 1805, her married name became Cockburn.¹
