     Elizabeth Sotheby was baptised on 20 July 1694 at York Minster, York, Yorkshire, England.² She was the daughter of Thomas Sotheby and Anthonina Jenkins.^1,2 She married Hon. Thomas Willoughby, son of Thomas Willoughby, 1st Baron Middleton of Middleton and Elizabeth Rothwell. She died on 25 April 1752 at age 57.³
     Her married name became Willoughby.¹

     Thomas Sotheby was baptised on 23 October 1656.² He was the son of Robert Sotheby and Elizabeth Lister.^3,2 He married, firstly, Anne Pegge, daughter of Edward Pegge.² He married, secondly, Anthonina Jenkins, daughter of Tobias Jenkins and Anthonina Wickham, on 6 July 1693 at York Minster, York, Yorkshire, England.² He died on 11 November 1729 at age 73.² He was buried on 15 November 1729.²

     Thomas Willoughby, 1st Baron Middleton of Middleton was born on 9 April 1672.^1,2 He was the son of Francis Willoughby and Emma Barnard.^1,3 He married Elizabeth Rothwell, daughter of Sir Richard Rothwell, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Clifton, on 9 April 1691 at Stapleford, Lincolnshire, England^G.⁴ He died on 2 April 1729 at age 56.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Willoughby [E., 1677] in 1688.⁴ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1693.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Nottinghamshire in 1694.⁴ He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire from 1695 to 1696.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Nottinghamshire between 1698 and 1702.² He held the office of High Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1699.² He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) between 1702 and 1711.⁴ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Nottinghamshire between 1705 and 1710.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newark from 1710 to 1712.² He was created 1st Baron Middleton of Middleton, co. Warwick [Great Britain] on 1 January 1711/12.⁴ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) between 1714 and 1729.⁴

     Elizabeth Rothwell was the daughter of Sir Richard Rothwell, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Clifton.¹ She married Thomas Willoughby, 1st Baron Middleton of Middleton, son of Francis Willoughby and Emma Barnard, on 9 April 1691 at Stapleford, Lincolnshire, England^G.² She died before February 1735/36 at Tong Castle, Shropshire, England^G.¹
     From 9 April 1691, her married name became Willoughby.¹ After her marriage, Elizabeth Rothwell was styled as Baroness Middleton of Middleton on 1 January 1712.

     Francis Willoughby was born on 22 November 1635 at Middleton Hall, Warwickshire, England.² He was the son of Sir Francis Willoughby and Lady Cassandra Ridgeway.² He married Emma Barnard, daughter of Sir Henry Barnard, in 1667.^3,2 He died on 3 July 1672 at age 36.²
     He was also known as Francis Willughby.² He was educated at Bishop Vesey's Grammar School, Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, England.² He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.² He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1663 one of the founders.⁴ He was a natural philosopher and astronomer.⁵ He lived at Wollaston, Nottinghamshire, England^G.⁵ He wrote the book The Ornithology of Francis Willoughby, published 1678.⁴

     Emma Barnard was the daughter of Sir Henry Barnard.¹ She married, firstly, Francis Willoughby, son of Sir Francis Willoughby and Lady Cassandra Ridgeway, in 1667.^2,3 She married, secondly, Sir Josiah Child, 1st Bt., son of Richard Child and Elizabeth Roycroft, circa 8 August 1676.² She died on 16 October 1725.⁴
     From 1667, her married name became Willoughby.² From circa 8 August 1676, her married name became Child.²

     Sir Henry Barnard lived at Bridgnorth, Shropshire, England^G.² He was a Turkey merchant at London, England^G.^3,4

     Charlotte Shorter was born circa 1683.² She was the daughter of John Shorter and Elizabeth Philipps.^1,3 She married Francis Seymour-Conway, 1st Baron Conway of Ragley, son of Sir Edward Seymour, 4th Bt. and Letitia Popham, in July 1716.³ She died on 12 February 1733/34.⁴
     From July 1716, her married name became Seymour-Conway.¹ After her marriage, Charlotte Shorter was styled as Baroness Conway of Ragley in July 1716.

     Diana Blackett was the daughter of Sir William Blackett, 1st Bt. and Julia Conyers.¹ She married Sir William Wentworth, 4th Bt., son of Sir Mathew Wentworth, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Osbaldeston, on 23 June 1720 at St. Paul's Cathedral, The City, London, England^G. She died circa April 1742.¹
     From 23 June 1720, her married name became Wentworth.¹

     Sir Mathew Wentworth, 3rd Bt. was born after 1663.¹ He was the son of Sir Matthew Wentworth, 2nd Bt. and Judith Rhodes.¹ He married Elizabeth Osbaldeston, daughter of William Osbaldeston and Anne Wentworth, on 22 May 1677 at Hunmanby, Yorkshire, England^G. He died in February 1705/6.¹
     He gained the title of 3rd Baronet Wentworth, of Bretton Hall [E.].
