     Joan Kathleen Scullard was the daughter of Wilfrid Ernest Henry Scullard.¹ She married Sir John Vansittart Bowater, 4th Bt., son of Victor Spencer Bowater and Hilda Mary Potter, on 22 October 1943.¹ She died in 1982.¹
     From 22 October 1943, her married name became Bowater.¹
