Field Marshal Paul Sanford Methuen, 3rd Baron Methuen of Corsham was born on 1 September 1845 at Corsham House, Wiltshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Frederick Henry Paul Methuen, 2nd Baron Methuen of Corsham and Anna Horatia Caroline Sanford.1 He married, firstly, Evelyn Hervey-Bathurst, daughter of Sir Frederick Hervey-Bathurst, 3rd Bt. and Clare Emily Brooke, on 18 June 1878.3 He married, secondly, Mary Ethel Ayshford Sanford, daughter of William Ayshford Sanford and Sarah Ellen Seymour, on 9 January 1884.3 He died on 30 October 1932 at age 87.1
