Albert Victor Bataille was born at BelgiumG.1 He married Eliza Sabia Adams, daughter of Jonathan Adams and Phoebe Quintal, on 15 May 1878 at Norfolk IslandG.1 He died before 1899.1
He was a plantation proprietor in New Caledonia, where he was said to have
been married to a French woman and had a separate family. After coming to
Norfolk, they lived in the 2-story Officer's Mess (New Military Barracks),
which had been the home of Seabury's parents. They lived there until she,
as a widow, was evicted in 1908.1
