     Gianfrancesco Gonzaga, Marchese di Mantova was born in 1395. He was the son of Francesco I Gonzaga.¹ He married Paola Malatesta in 1409.² He died in 1444.¹
     He gained the title of Marchese di Mantova in 1407.¹

     Ludovico II Gonzaga, Marchese di Mantova was born in 1412. He was the son of Gianfrancesco Gonzaga, Marchese di Mantova and Paola Malatesta.^1,2 He married Barbara de Brandenburg, daughter of Johann Markgraf von Brandenburg-Kulmbach and Barbara von Sachsen-Wittenberg, on 12 November 1433.² He died in 1478.¹
     He succeeded as the Marchese di Mantova in 1444.¹

     Francesco II Gonzaga, Marchese di Mantova was born in 1466.² He was the son of Federico I Gonzaga, Marchese di Mantova and Margherita von Bayern.^1,2 He married Isabella d'Este, daughter of Ercole I d'Este, Duca di Ferrara, on 12 February 1490.^3,2 He died in 1519.¹
     He succeeded as the Marchese di Mantova in 1484.¹
