     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.⁴ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Intelligence Corps.⁴ He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.⁴ He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Monsell [U.K., 1935] on 21 March 1969.⁴ On his death, his viscountancy became extinct.⁵

     Lt.-Col. Alan Stuart Casey was born in 1898.^2,3 He was the son of Henry James Casey.⁴ He married Hon. Diana Sybil Monsell, daughter of Bolton Meredith Eyres Monsell, 1st Viscount Monsell and Caroline Mary Sybil Eyres, on 30 April 1935.⁴ He died on 18 November 1958.^2,3
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Dragoons.¹
