     Captain Alexander Ruthven, Lord Ruthven was the son of Lt.-Gen. Patrick Ruthven, 1st and last Earl of Brentford and Jane Henderson.1 He died between 11 March 1642 and 8 August 1649.1
     He was styled as Lord Ruthven between 1639 and 1642.1 He fought in the Siege of Edinburgh in 1639/40.1
