     Edward Smith held the office of Clerk of the Green Cloth, to Queen Elizabeth I.¹ He lived at Mitcham, Surrey, England^G.¹ He was also known as Thomas Smythe.²

     William Brabazon, 1st Earl of Meath was born circa 1580.² He was the son of Edward Brabazon, 1st Lord Brabazon, Baron of Ardee and Mary Smythe.¹ He married Jane Bingley, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir John Bingley, in February 1607.² He died circa 16 December 1651.² He was buried on 19 December 1651.²
     He was appointed Knight in February 1603/4.² He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Brabazon, Baron of Ardee, co. Louth [I., 1616] on 7 August 1625.¹ On 8 February 1626/27 a King's Letter ordered that he should be created Earl of Carlow, but this was suppressed, and created Earl of Meath instead.¹ He was created 1st Earl of Meath [Ireland] on 16 April 1627, with a special remainder to his brother Sir Anthony Brabazon.¹

     Major Bristow Charles Bovill was born on 24 September 1940.¹ He is the son of Major William Frederick Bovill and Marjorie Joan Leigh.¹ He married Kerry Anne Reynolds, daughter of Sydney Beresford Reynolds, on 11 June 1968.²
     He lived at South Queensferry, West Lothian, Scotland^G.¹ He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.² He gained the rank of Captain in the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards.¹

     Kerry Anne Reynolds is the daughter of Sydney Beresford Reynolds.² She married Major Bristow Charles Bovill, son of Major William Frederick Bovill and Marjorie Joan Leigh, on 11 June 1968.²
     From 11 June 1968, her married name became Bovill.¹

     Katrina J. Bovill is the daughter of Major Bristow Charles Bovill and Kerry Anne Reynolds.¹

     Major William Frederick Bovill was the son of Frederick William Bovill.¹ He married Marjorie Joan Leigh, daughter of Sir John Leigh, 1st Bt. and Norah Marjorie New, on 21 July 1939.¹ He died on 8 December 1982.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)² He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)²

     Marjorie Joan Leigh is the daughter of Sir John Leigh, 1st Bt. and Norah Marjorie New.^1,2 She married Major William Frederick Bovill, son of Frederick William Bovill, on 21 July 1939.²
     From 21 July 1939, her married name became Bovill.¹

     Sir John Leigh, 1st Bt. was born on 3 August 1884.² He was the son of John Leigh.² He married Norah Marjorie New, daughter of John Henry New, on 23 January 1908.² He died on 29 July 1959 at age 74.²
     He was educated at Manchester Grammar School, Manchester, Lancashire, England^G.² He was created 1st Baronet Leigh, of Altrincham., co. Chester [U.K.] on 9 February 1918.¹ He was propreitor of the Pall Mall Gazette.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Clapham between 1922 and 1945.²

     Ethel May Bowater was born on 13 May 1896.¹ She is the daughter of Major Sir Frank Henry Bowater, 1st Bt. and Ethel Anita Fryar.¹ She married Captain William Olaus Charles Johnsen, son of W. M. Johnsen, on 5 February 1916.¹
     Ethel May Bowater usually went by her middle name of May.² From 5 February 1916, her married name became Johnsen.¹

     Captain William Olaus Charles Johnsen was the son of W. M. Johnsen.¹ He married Ethel May Bowater, daughter of Major Sir Frank Henry Bowater, 1st Bt. and Ethel Anita Fryar, on 5 February 1916.¹ He died on 20 April 1960.¹
     He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.)¹
