Sir John Bernard, 4th Bt. was born circa 1695 at Brampton, Huntingdonshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Sir Robert Bernard, 3rd Bt. and Anne Weldon.1 He married Mary St. John, daughter of Sir Francis St. John, 1st Bt. and Mary Gould, on 22 December 1735 at Saint Stephen and Saint Benet Sherehog, London, EnglandG.2,3 He died on 15 December 1766.1
He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Bernard, of Huntingdon, Hunts. [E., 1662] before 1703.1 He lived at Brampton, Huntingdonshire, EnglandG.1

Mary St. John was born at Longthorp, Northamptonshire, EnglandG.2 She was the daughter of Sir Francis St. John, 1st Bt. and Mary Gould.1 She married Sir John Bernard, 4th Bt., son of Sir Robert Bernard, 3rd Bt. and Anne Weldon, on 22 December 1735 at Saint Stephen and Saint Benet Sherehog, London, EnglandG.2,3 She died on 21 September 1793.1 Her will was proven (by probate) in October 1793.1

He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 10 May 1758.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Huntingdon between 1765 and 1768.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Bernard, of Huntingdon, Hunts. [E., 1662] on 15 December 1766.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westminster between April 1770 and 1773.1
