Major Henry Duncan Bentinck was born on 24 June 1881.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Henry Charles Adolphus Frederick William Bentinck, 5th Graf Bentinck and Henrietta Eliza Cathcart McKerrell.1 He died on 2 October 1916 at age 35, from wounds received in action.1
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1902 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the Coldstream Guards.1 He fought in the Battle of the Somme, where he was mentioned in despatches.1

William Charles Philip Otho Aldenburg-Bentinck, 6th Graf Bentinck was born on 28 November 1848.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Charles Anthony Ferdinand Bentinck, 4th Graf Bentinck and Caroline Mechtild Emma Charlotte Christine Luise Gräfin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont.1 He married Mary Cornelia Baronin de Heeckeren, daughter of Charles de Heeckeren, on 8 March 1877.1 He died on 2 November 1912 at age 63.1
He gained the title of 6th Graf Bentinck [Holy Roman Empire, 1732] in 1874, on the resignation of his brother.1 He was created Graf von Waldeck-Limburg in 1889.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Teutonic Order.1 He was awarded the Grand Cross, Order of the Red Eagle of Prussia.1 He was appointed Knight of Justice, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.J.St.J.)1
