Thomas de Courcy Hamilton, V.C., son of James John Hamilton and Hon. Anne Geraldine de Courcy, on 8 September 1857.1 She died on 21 May 1913, leaving issue.1

Maj.-Gen. Thomas de Courcy Hamilton, V.C. was born on 20 July 1825 at Stranraer, Wigtownshire, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of James John Hamilton and Hon. Anne Geraldine de Courcy.1,3 He married Mary Anne Louisa Baynes, daughter of Sir William Baynes, 2nd Bt. and Julia Smith, on 8 September 1857.1 He died on 3 March 1908 at age 82 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1,2 He was buried at Cheltenham Cemetery, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.2
He fought in the Crimean War in 1855.4 He gained the rank of Captain in the 68th Regiment.4 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.) on 24 February 1857, for his actions on 11 May 1855.1,2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1
