     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 35th Regiment, 72nd Seaforth Highalnders.¹ He was Chief Commissioner of the City of London Police.¹

     Alice Margarita Parks was the daughter of Reverend Leighton Parks.¹ She married Sir John Nicholson Barran, 2nd Bt., son of John Barran and Eliza Henrietta Nicholson, on 18 November 1902.¹ She died on 1 July 1939.¹
     From 18 November 1902, her married name became Barran.¹

     Reverend Leighton Parks graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)¹ He was the Rector at Emmnauel Church, Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.² He was the Rector at St. Barthlomew's Church, New York City, New York, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Mabel Alleyne Jessop was born in 1883 at Swanwick, Derbyshire, England.¹ She was the daughter of William de Burgh Jessop and Judith Alleyne.¹ She married Captain Henry Albert Le Fowne Hurt, son of Lt.-Col. Albert Frederic Hurt and Alice Delmé Radcliffe.
     Her married name became Hurt.

     Caspar Jack Baker was born on 4 November 2005.¹ He is the son of Harry Baker and Lady Portia Caroline Agar.¹

     Edward Nicholson Barran was born on 30 March 1910.¹ He was the son of Sir John Nicholson Barran, 2nd Bt. and Alice Margarita Parks.¹ He married, firstly, Daphne Margaret Bird, daughter of Herbert William Bird, on 4 December 1940.¹ He and Daphne Margaret Bird were divorced in 1953.¹ He married, secondly, Patricia Helen Blake, daughter of Alexander Granville Blake, on 28 January 1955.² He died on 20 August 1994 at age 84.²
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1931 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1935 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 5th Inniskilling Dragoon Guards, Special Reserve.¹

     Daphne Margaret Bird is the daughter of Herbert William Bird.¹ She married Edward Nicholson Barran, son of Sir John Nicholson Barran, 2nd Bt. and Alice Margarita Parks, on 4 December 1940.¹ She and Edward Nicholson Barran were divorced in 1953.¹
     From 4 December 1940, her married name became Barran.¹

     Alexander Steven Bilsland, 1st and last Baron Bilsland was born on 13 September 1892.¹ He was the son of Sir William Bilsland, 1st Bt. and Agnes Anne Steven.^1,2 He married Amy Janet Colville, daughter of David Colville and Catherine Harvey Greenlees, on 16 February 1922.¹ He died on 10 December 1970 at age 78, without issue.¹
     He was educated at St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 8th Battalion, Scottish Rifles.² He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Bilsland, of Park Circus, Glasgow [U.K., 1907] on 27 August 1921.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1927.³ He was chairman of Scottish National Trust Ltd.² He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) in 1942.³ He was created 1st Baron Bilsland, of Kinrara, co. Inverness [U.K.] on 31 January 1950.¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Thistle (K.T.) in 1955.²
     On his death, his barony and baronetcy became extinct.¹
