     Sir John Barnardiston, 6th Bt. was the son of John Barnardiston and Sophia Rich.1 He married Elizabeth Blakeway, daughter of William Blakeway, before July 1737.1 He died circa September 1745, without issue.1 He was buried on 29 September 1745 at Ketton, Suffolk, EnglandG.1
     He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Barnardiston, of Ketton, co. Suffolk [E., 1663] on 4 February 1735/36.1 He lived at Long Melford, Suffolk, EnglandG.1
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1

     Sir Samuel Barnardiston, 1st Bt. was born on 23 June 1620.1 He was the son of Sir Nathaniel Barnardiston and Jane Soame.1 He married, firstly, Thomazine Brand, daughter of Joseph Brand and Thomazine Trotter.1 He married, secondly, Mary Reynardson, daughter of Sir Abraham Reynardson and Eleanor Wynne, after 1654.1 He died on 8 November 1707 at age 87, without issue.1 He was buried on 28 November 1707 at Brightwell, Suffolk, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) in December 1707.1
     He was a Turkey or Levant merchant.1 In December 1641 he was called a 'Roundhead' by the Queen Consort, on account of his close cropped hair.1 He was He was a strenuous supporter of the Puritans.1 He was created 1st Baronet Barnardiston, of Bright Hall, co. Suffolk [England] on 11 May 1663, with a special remainder to his brother, Nathaniel and then to another brother, Pelitiah.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Suffolk from 1666 to 1667.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk between February 1673 and 1681.1 He was admitted to Gray's Inn on 10 March 1673/74.1 He was Deputy Governor of the East India Company.1 In 1689 he was fined £10,000 for high misdemeanour, by Judge Jeffries, and was attainted by the Irish Parliament of King James II.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk between 1690 and 1702.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2
