Sir Charles Warwick Bamfylde, 5th Bt. was born on 23 January 1753.1 He was baptised on 23 January 1753 at St. Augustine's, Bristol, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Warwick Bamfylde, 4th Bt. and Jane Codrington.1 He married Catharine Moore, daughter of Admiral Sir John Moore, 1st Bt. and Penelope Mathew, on 9 February 1776 at St. James's, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 19 April 1823 at age 70 at Montagu Square, London, EnglandG, from a shot received on the 7th from an ex-servant, Morland, who immediately afterwards committed suicide.1,2 He was buried on 25 April 1823 at Hardington, Somerset, EnglandG.1
He matriculated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 6 January 1770.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Exeter between 1774 and 1790.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Bamfylde, of Poltimore, co. Devon [E., 1641] on 15 July 1776.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Exeter between 1796 and 1807.1

George Warwick Bampfylde, 1st Baron Poltimore was born on 23 March 1786.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Warwick Bamfylde, 5th Bt. and Catharine Moore.1 He was baptised on 20 April 1786 at St. James's, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 He married, firstly, Emma Penelope Sneyd, daughter of Reverend Ralph Sneyd and Penelope Moore, on 2 May 1809 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 He married, secondly, Caroline Buller, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Frederick William Buller and Elizabeth Charlotte Tomkyns, on 16 March 1836.2 He died on 19 December 1858 at age 72.2

Emma Penelope Sneyd was the daughter of Reverend Ralph Sneyd and Penelope Moore.1 She married George Warwick Bampfylde, 1st Baron Poltimore, son of Sir Charles Warwick Bamfylde, 5th Bt. and Catharine Moore, on 2 May 1809 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 She died after 1831, without male issue.1
From 2 May 1809, her married name became Bamfylde.1 After her marriage, Emma Penelope Sneyd was styled as Baroness Poltimore on 10 September 1831.
