Vice-Admiral James William Rivett-Carnac was born on 12 February 1891.2 He was the son of Rev. Sir Clennel George Rivett-Carnac, 6th Bt. and Emily Louisa Crabbe.2,3 He married Isla Nesta Blackwood, daughter of Harry Officer Blackwood, on 20 April 1922.2 He died on 9 October 1970 at age 79.2
He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.)4 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.2 He was Commodore of the New Zealand Squadron.2 He was commander of the H.M.S. James Harry Scarlett, 9th Baron Abinger was born on 28 May 1959.1 He is the son of James Richard Scarlett, 8th Baron Abinger and Isla Carolyn Rivett-Carnac.1 He married Tracy Cloutier, daughter of Normand Cloutier, on 19 August 1995.2
