     Barbara Cholmley is the daughter of Sir Henry Cholmley and Margaret Babthorpe.^1,2 She married Thomas Belasyse, 1st Viscount Fauconberg of Henknowle, son of Sir Henry Bellasis, 1st Bt. and Ursula Fairfax, circa 1600.²
     From circa 1600, her married name became Belasyse.²

     Sir Henry Cholmley was born in 1556.² He was the son of Sir Richard Cholmley and Lady Catherine Clifford.² He married Margaret Babthorpe, daughter of Sir William Babthorpe and Barbara Constable. He died in 1616 at York, Yorkshire, England, following a hunting accident.²
     He lived at Roxby, Yorkshire, England^G.³ He lived at Whitby, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland in 1597.² He held the office of Knight in April 1603.²

     Jane Boteler was baptised on 20 January 1620/21 at Aston, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Robert Boteler and Frances Drury.¹ She married John Belasyse, 1st Baron Belasyse of Worlaby, son of Thomas Belasyse, 1st Viscount Fauconberg of Henknowle and Barbara Cholmley, on 8 March 1636.¹ She died before 12 December 1657.¹
     From 8 March 1636, her married name became Belasyse.¹ After her marriage, Jane Boteler was styled as Baroness Belasyse of Worlaby on 27 January 1644/45.

     Sir Robert Boteler lived at Watton Woodhall, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹

     Frances Drury is the daughter of Sir Drew Drury and Catherine Finch.^1,2

     Sir Drew Drury was born circa 1532.² He was the son of Sir Robert Drury and Elizabeth Brudenell.² He married, firstly, Elizabeth Calthorpe, daughter of Sir Phillip Calthorpe and Jane Boleyn, circa 1565.² He married, secondly, Catherine Finch, daughter of William Finch, in 1582.² He died on 29 April 1617 at Riddlesworth, Norfolk, England.²
     He lived at Halstead, Suffolk, England^G.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1579.²

     James Fortrey was born circa 1659.¹ He was the son of Samuel Fortrey and Theodora Joceline.² He married Susan Armyne, Baroness Belasyse of Osgodby, daughter of Sir William Armyne, 2nd Bt. and Anne Crane, before 1684.¹
     He held the office of Groom of the Bedchamber to King James II.² He lived at Chequers, England^G.¹

     Robert Douglas, 1st and last Viscount Belhaven was born circa 1574.¹ He was the son of Malcolm Douglas, 8th of Mains and Janet Cunningham.¹ He married Nicola Moray, daughter of Robert Moray, on 12 January 1610/11 at St. Mary Woolnoth, London, England^G.¹ He died on 14 January 1638/39 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G, without male issue.¹ He was buried at Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹
     He held the office of Page of Honour to the Prince of Wales, Henry.¹ He held the office of Gentleman of the Bedchamber to King James I.¹ He held the office of Master of the Horse to the Prince of Wales, Henry.¹ He held the office of Gentleman of the Bedchamber to King Charles I.¹ He was appointed Knight on 7 February 1608/9 at Whitehall, London, England^G.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)¹ He held the office of Master of the Household to King Charles I.¹ He was created 1st Viscount Belhaven, co.      Malcolm Douglas, 8th of Mains was born circa 1540 at Mains, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.² He was the son of Matthew Douglas, 7th of Mains and Margaret Buchanan.² He married Janet Cunningham, daughter of John Cunningham and Janet Cuninghame, in 1562.³ He died on 9 February 1585 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.²
     He lived at Mains, Dunbartonshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Janet Cunningham was the daughter of John Cunningham and Janet Cuninghame.^1,3 She married Malcolm Douglas, 8th of Mains, son of Matthew Douglas, 7th of Mains and Margaret Buchanan, in 1562.²
     She lived at Drumquhasell, Scotland^G.² She was also known as Janet Cuninghame.⁴ From 1562, her married name became Douglas.²
