     Elizabeth Fineux is the daughter of John Fineux.¹ She married Sir John Smythe, son of Thomas Smythe and Alice Judd.¹
     Her married name became Smythe.¹

     John Fineux is the son of William Fyneux.²

     Thomas Smythe, 1st Viscount Strangford is the son of Sir John Smythe and Elizabeth Fineux.¹ He married Lady Barbara Sydney, daughter of Robert Sydney, 1st Earl of Leicester and Barbara Gamage.²
     He gained the title of 1st Viscount Strangford.

     Sir John Baker, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1608.¹ He was the son of Sir Henry Baker, 1st Bt. and Catharine Smythe.¹ He married Eleanor Parkhurst, daughter of Sir Robert Parkhurst and Eleanor Babington.¹ He died on 15 January 1653.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Baker, of Sissinghurst, co. Kent [E., 1611] in December 1623.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Kent from 1633 to 1634.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hastings from April 1640 to May 1640.¹ On 22 April 1644 he was fined £3,000 for being a zealous Royalist.¹

     Eleanor Parkhurst was the daughter of Sir Robert Parkhurst and Eleanor Babington.¹ She married Sir John Baker, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Henry Baker, 1st Bt. and Catharine Smythe.¹ She died in 1639.¹
     Her married name became Baker.¹

     Sir Robert Parkhurst held the office of Lord Mayor of London from 1634 to 1635.¹

     Eleanor Babington is the daughter of William Babington.¹

     William Babington lived at Chorley, Surrey, England^G.¹

     Sir John Baker, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir John Baker, 2nd Bt. and Eleanor Parkhurst.¹ He married Elizabeth Newton, daughter of Sir Robert Newton, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Longston.¹ He died on 28 March 1661, without male issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Baker, of Sissinghurst, co. Kent [E., 1611] on 15 January 1653.¹
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.¹ He had four daughters.¹

     Elizabeth Newton is the daughter of Sir Robert Newton, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Longston.¹ She married, firstly, Sir John Baker, 3rd Bt., son of Sir John Baker, 2nd Bt. and Eleanor Parkhurst.¹ She married, secondly, Sir Philip Howard, son of Sir William Howard and Mary Eure, on 23 April 1668 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Covent Garden, London, England^G.¹
     Her married name became Baker.¹ From 23 April 1668, her married name became Howard.¹
