Walter George Hepburne-Scott, 9th Lord Polwarth was born on 7 February 1864.1 He was the son of Walter Hugh Hepburne-Scott, 8th Lord Polwarth and Lady Mary Gordon.1 He married Edith Frances Buxton, daughter of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton, 3rd Bt. and Lady Victoria Noel, on 23 November 1888.2 He died on 24 August 1944 at age 80.1
