Sir William Agnew, 1st Bt. was born on 20 October 1825.1 He was the son of Thomas Agnew and Jane Garnet Lockett.1 He married Mary Kenworthy, daughter of George Pixton Kenworthy, on 25 March 1851.1 He died on 31 October 1910 at age 85.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for South East Lancashire between 1880 and 1885.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Stretford between 1885 and 1886.1 He was created 1st Baronet Agnew, of Great Stanhope Street, London [U.K.] on 2 September 1895.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Manchester.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Salford.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2

Sir George William Agnew, 2nd Bt. was born on 19 January 1852 at Salford, Lancashire, EnglandG.2,3 He was the son of Sir William Agnew, 1st Bt. and Mary Kenworthy.1 He married Fanny Bolton, daughter of John Stuart Bolton, on 2 October 1878.2 He died on 19 December 1941 at age 89.2
