     Charles Howard, 1st Earl of Nottingham was born circa 1536.¹ He was the son of William Howard, 1st Baron Howard of Effingham and Margaret Gamage.¹ He married, firstly, Katherine Carey, daughter of Henry Carey, 1st Baron Hunsdon of Hunsdon and Ann Morgan, circa July 1563.¹ He married, secondly, Lady Margaret Stuart, daughter of James Stuart, 2nd Lord Doune and Elizabeth Stewart, Countess of Moray, circa September 1603.⁴ He died on 14 December 1624.
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Howard of Effingham, co. Surrey [E., 1554] on 21 January 1572/73.¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1574.¹ He held the office of Lord High Admiral [England] in 1588, who was in supreme command at the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588.¹ He was created 1st Earl of Nottingham [England] on 22 October 1596.¹

     Oswald Constantine John Phipps, 4th Marquess of Normanby was born on 29 July 1912.¹ He was the son of Constantine Charles Henry Phipps, 3rd Marquess of Normanby and Gertrude Stansfeld Forster.¹ He married Hon. Grania Maeve Rosaura Guinness, daughter of Walter Edward Guinness, 1st Baron Moyne and Lady Evelyn Hilda Stuart Erskine, on 10 February 1951.³ He died on 30 January 1994 at age 81.¹

Grania Maeve Rosaura Guinness was born on 14 April 1920.¹ She was the daughter of Walter Edward Guinness, 1st Baron Moyne and Lady Evelyn Hilda Stuart Erskine.¹ She married Oswald Constantine John Phipps, 4th Marquess of Normanby, son of Constantine Charles Henry Phipps, 3rd Marquess of Normanby and Gertrude Stansfeld Forster, on 10 February 1951.¹ She died on 15 January 2018 at age 97.³
     She was Section Officer, Women's Auxiliary Air Force during the Second World War.¹ From 10 February 1951, her married name became Phipps. After her marriage, Hon. Grania Maeve Rosaura Guinness was styled as Marchioness of Normanby on 10 February 1951. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for North Yorkshire between 1971 and 1983.¹ She was Pro Chancellor of Dublin University between 1985 and 1995.¹ She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 2000.¹

     Constantine Edmund Walter Phipps, 5th Marquess of Normanby was born on 24 February 1954.¹ He is the son of Oswald Constantine John Phipps, 4th Marquess of Normanby and Hon. Grania Maeve Rosaura Guinness.² He married Nicola Shulman, daughter of Milton Shulman and Drusilla Beyfus, in 1990.²
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Worcester College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He wrote the book Careful With the Sharks, published 1985.¹ He wrote the book Among the Thin Ghosts, published 1989.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Viscount Normanby of Normanby, co.      William Beauclerk was born on 26 May 1726.¹ He was the son of Lord William Beauclerk and Charlotte Werden.¹ He died on 28 November 1738 at age 12.¹

     Caroline Beauclerk was the daughter of Lord William Beauclerk and Charlotte Werden.² She married Maj.-Gen. Sir William Draper on 23 February 1756.² She died in 1778, without issue.²

     Vere Beauclerk was born on 12 January 1736/37.¹ He was the son of Admiral Vere Beauclerk, 1st Baron Vere of Hanworth and Mary Chambers.¹ He died on 26 December 1739 at age 2.¹
