     Haakon IV Haakonsson, King of Norway was born in 1204.1 He was the son of Haakon III Sverkersson, King of Norway and Inga of Varteig.1 He married, firstly, Kanaga (?) before 1225.1 He married, secondly, Margareta Skulesdotter, daughter of Skuli Baardsson, Jarl Skule and Ragnhild (?), in 1225.1 He died circa 15 December 1263.
     Haakon IV Haakonsson, King of Norway also went by the nick-name of Haakon 'the Old'.2 He succeeded as the King Haakon IV of Norway in 1217.1

     He gained the title of Prince Haakon of Norway.2 He held the office of Co-regent of Norway between 1240 and 1257.3

     Rixa Folkunga is the daughter of Birgir Folkunga, Jarl of Sweden and Ingeborg Eriksdottir.2,1 She married, firstly, Haakon Haakonsson, Prince of Norway, son of Haakon IV Haakonsson, King of Norway and Margareta Skulesdotter, in 1251.1 She married, secondly, Heinrich I Prinz von Werle, son of Nicholas I Graf von Werle and Judith von Anhalt, in 1262.2 She died in 1288.3
     She was also known as Rikissa Birgensdotter.3
