     Captain Augustus Maynard Douglas-Hamilton was born on 29 November 1854 at Simla, India^G.^1,2 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Octavius Douglas-Hamilton and Katherine Augusta Westenra Macleod.¹ He married Frances Wilhelmina Cloete, daughter of Dirk Cloete and Johanna Reinetta Catherina van Oosterzee, on 4 August 1909.¹ He died on 19 August 1928 at age 73 at London, England^G.^1,2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 4th Battalion, East Surrey Regiment.¹

     Frances Wilhelmina Cloete was born in 1864 at Wynberg, Cape Province, South Africa^G.² She was the daughter of Dirk Cloete and Johanna Reinetta Catherina van Oosterzee.^1,2 She married Captain Augustus Maynard Douglas-Hamilton, son of Maj.-Gen. Octavius Douglas-Hamilton and Katherine Augusta Westenra Macleod, on 4 August 1909.¹ She died on 30 August 1938 at Canvey Island, Essex, England^G.^1,2
     From 4 August 1909, her married name became Douglas-Hamilton.

     Dirk Cloete was born on 24 April 1820 at Wynberg, Cape Province, South Africa^G.² He was the son of Hendrik Cloete and Anna Gesina Borcherds.² He married Johanna Reinetta Catherina van Oosterzee, daughter of Dr. Johannes Knockers van Oosterzee and Augusta Wilhelmina Magdalena Thalman, on 30 March 1843.² He died on 23 June 1894 at age 74 at Wynberg, Cape Province, South Africa^G.²
     He was also known as David Cloete. He lived at Alphen, Wynberg, Cape Province, South Africa^G.¹

     Captain Charles Reginald Sydney Douglas-Hamilton was born on 5 October 1856 at Macrut, India^G.^1,2 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Octavius Douglas-Hamilton and Katherine Augusta Westenra Macleod.¹ He married Mary Isabel Hammond Whitla, daughter of Captain George Alexander Whitla and Isabella Frances Hammond, on 10 September 1890.¹ He died on 8 February 1935 at age 78.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Gordon Highlanders.¹

     Mary Isabel Hammond Whitla was born on 24 March 1860 at Drum, County Monaghan, Ireland^G.² She was the daughter of Captain George Alexander Whitla and Isabella Frances Hammond.^1,2 She married Captain Charles Reginald Sydney Douglas-Hamilton, son of Maj.-Gen. Octavius Douglas-Hamilton and Katherine Augusta Westenra Macleod, on 10 September 1890.¹ She died on 5 January 1948 at age 87.¹
     From 10 September 1890, her married name became Douglas-Hamilton.

     Captain George Alexander Whitla was born in 1818 at Crumlin, County Antrim, Ireland^G.² He was the son of James Whitla and Catherine Gunning.² He married Isabella Frances Hammond, daughter of Reverend John Hammond and Harriet (?), in 1858.² He died on 3 August 1867 at Torquay, Devon, England^G.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Antrim Rifles.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)² He lived at Ben Eadan, Scotland^G.¹

     Elsie Muriel Douglas-Hamilton was born on 21 August 1891 at Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.^1,2 She was the daughter of Captain Charles Reginald Sydney Douglas-Hamilton and Mary Isabel Hammond Whitla.¹

     Major Angus Falconer Douglas-Hamilton, V.C. was born on 20 August 1863.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Octavius Douglas-Hamilton and Katherine Augusta Westenra Macleod.¹ He married Anna Watson Mackenzie, daughter of Captain Alexander Watson Mackenzie, on 1 August 1894.¹ He died on 26 September 1915 at age 52 at Loos, France^G, killed in action.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 6th Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the 79th Cameron Highlanders.¹ He fought in the Sudan Expedition from 1884 to 1885.¹ He fought in the Sudan Expedition from 1885 to 1886.¹ He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1915, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹

     Anna Watson Mackenzie was the daughter of Captain Alexander Watson Mackenzie.¹ She married Major Angus Falconer Douglas-Hamilton, V.C., son of Maj.-Gen. Octavius Douglas-Hamilton and Katherine Augusta Westenra Macleod, on 1 August 1894.¹ She died on 15 February 1945.¹
     From 1 August 1894, her married name became Douglas-Hamilton.

     Captain Alexander Watson Mackenzie lived at Ord, Ross-shire, Scotland^G.¹
