Anne Hamilton1

     Anne Hamilton was the daughter of Claud Hamilton and Anne Hamilton.1,2 She married, firstly, Sir Francis Hamilton, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Charles Hamilton, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Sempill, on 26 March 1695.2 She married, secondly, Captain Hon. Archibald Hamilton, son of William Douglas-Hamilton, 1st Earl of Selkirk and Anne Hamilton, 3rd Duchess of Hamilton, on 17 December 1718.1 She died on 29 March 1719, without issue.1 She was buried on 4 April 1719 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1,3

Sir Francis Hamilton, 3rd Bt.1

     Sir Francis Hamilton, 3rd Bt. was born before 1679.2 He was the son of Sir Charles Hamilton, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Sempill.2 He married, firstly, Catherine Montgomery, daughter of Hugh Montgomery, 1st Earl of Mount Alexander and Hon. Catherine Jones, circa 1685.2 He married, secondly, Anne Hamilton, daughter of Claud Hamilton and Anne Hamilton, on 26 March 1695.2 He died on 4 February 1713/14 without surviving issue.2 He was buried on 9 February 1713/14.2 His will (dated 19 Jan 1713/14) was proven (by probate) on 24 February 1717/18, in Prerogative Court [Ireland].3
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Hamilton, of Castle Hamilton, co. Cavan [S., 1628] before 1689.2 In 1689 he was attainted by the Parliament of King James II.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Cavan [Ireland] in 1692/93.2 He held the office of Sheriff of County Donegal in 1694.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Cavan [Ireland] between 1695 and 1699.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Cavan [Ireland] between 1703 and 1713.2
     On his death, his Baronetcy became dormant.2

     Elizabeth Hamilton was the daughter of Reverend Frederick Hamilton and Rachael Daniel.1 She married John Stratford, 3rd Earl of Aldborough, son of John Stratford, 1st Earl of Aldborough and Martha O'Neale, in April 1777.1 She died in May 1811 at Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1,2,3
     From April 1777, her married name became Stratford. After her marriage, Elizabeth Hamilton was styled as Countess of Aldborough on 2 January 1801.

     John Stratford, 3rd Earl of Aldborough was born between 1742 and 1745. He was the son of John Stratford, 1st Earl of Aldborough and Martha O'Neale.2 He married Elizabeth Hamilton, daughter of Reverend Frederick Hamilton and Rachael Daniel, in April 1777.1 He died on 7 March 1823 at Belan, County Kildare, IrelandG, without male issue.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Baltinglass between 1763 and 1776.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Wicklow between 1776 and 1790.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Baltinglass between 1790 and 1800.2 He held the office of a Governor of County Wicklow in 1795.2 He gained the title of 3rd Earl of Aldborough, of the Palatinate of Upper Ormond [I., 1777] on 2 January 1801.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Amiens [I., 1777] on 2 January 1801. He succeeded as the 3rd Baron of Baltinglass, co. Wicklow [I., 1763] on 2 January 1801. He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Aldborough, of Belan, co. Kildare [I., 1776] on 2 January 1801.
