     He was also known as Gerald Wellesley.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of County Kildare in 1671.¹ He lived at Dangan, Ireland^G.¹

     Elizabeth Colley was the daughter of Dudley Colley and Anne Warren.^1,2 She married Garret Wellesley, son of William Wellesley and Mary Kempe.¹ She died on 8 September 1678.¹
