Goronwy ap Ednyfed is the son of Ednyfed Fychan 'the Little' ap Cynfrig and Gwenllian verch Rhys. He married Morfudd verch Meurig, daughter of Meurig ab Ithel.1 He died on 17 October 1268.1
He was Lord of Erddreiniog, Gwredog, Penmynydd and Trecastell.1 He held the office of Seneschal of Gwynedd between 1246 and 1268.1
