     Mountifort Longfield was born circa 1815.² He was the son of Reverend Robert Longfield.³ He married Caroline Augusta Courtenay, daughter of George Courtenay and Caroline Augusta Smith-Barry, in 1840.⁴ He died in November 1864.³
