     Eila Isabel Laurie was the daughter of Sir Wilfrid Emilius Laurie of Maxwelton, 5th Bt. and Marian Isabel Stirling.² She married Rear-Admiral James Uchtred Farie, son of Colonel George Farie and Elizabeth Cockburn Maitland, on 17 October 1928.¹ She died in 1994.¹
     From 17 October 1928, her married name became Farie.

     Colonel George Farie married Elizabeth Cockburn Maitland, daughter of Stuart Cairns Maitland and Margaret Shippen, on 4 March 1873.²
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 74th Highlanders.²

     Rear-Admiral James Uchtred Farie was the son of Colonel George Farie and Elizabeth Cockburn Maitland.^2,3 He married Eila Isabel Laurie, daughter of Sir Wilfrid Emilius Laurie of Maxwelton, 5th Bt. and Marian Isabel Stirling, on 17 October 1928.¹ He married Gertrude Pietrina Josephine Mary Langdale, daughter of Arthur Joseph Langdale and Catherine Agnes Eleanor de Bruyn, on 23 December 1907.² He died on 17 September 1957.
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.² He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)¹
