     Jane Spens was born in 1804.¹ She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Archibald Spens, 21st of that Ilk and 18th of Lathallan and Charlotte Philip.² She died in 1806.¹

     Margaret Hope Spens was born in 1807.¹ She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Archibald Spens, 21st of that Ilk and 18th of Lathallan and Charlotte Philip.² She died in 1812.¹

     Maj.-Gen. Sir Thomas Valiant was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹ He was appointed Knight, Hanoverian Order (K.H.)¹

     Henrietta Ouchterlony Valiant was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Thomas Valiant.² She married Archibald Spens, 22nd of that Ilk and 19th of Lathallan, son of Lt.-Col. Archibald Spens, 21st of that Ilk and 18th of Lathallan and Charlotte Philip, on 18 November 1829.¹ She died on 27 May 1890.¹
     From 18 November 1829, her married name became Spens.

     Archibald Lockhart Spens, 23rd of that Ilk and 20th of Lathallan was born on 28 February 1834 at Bombay, India.¹ He was the son of Archibald Spens, 22nd of that Ilk and 19th of Lathallan and Henrietta Ouchterlony Valiant.² He married Caroline Anna Margaret Waller, daughter of Surg.-Maj. Thomas Waller and Alicia Anne Gilbert, on 7 April 1859 at Malcolm Peth, Bombay, India.¹ He died on 20 November 1916 at age 82 at Dunruadh, Paignton, Devon, England.¹
     He was in the Indian Civil Service, Bombay Presidency.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Dunruadh, Paignton, Devon, England.¹

     Arundel Thomas Spens was born on 16 May 1835.¹ He was the son of Archibald Spens, 22nd of that Ilk and 19th of Lathallan and Henrietta Ouchterlony Valiant.² He married Maria Wright, daughter of Reverend G. N. Wright, on 2 February 1860.¹ He died on 2 November 1920 at age 85.¹
     He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Addiscombe Military Academy, Addiscombe, Surrey, England.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel Bombay in the Staff Corps.¹

     Reverend G. N. Wright graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He lived at Coed-y-Celyn, Denbighshire, Wales.¹

     Maria Wright was the daughter of Reverend G. N. Wright.² She married Arundel Thomas Spens, son of Archibald Spens, 22nd of that Ilk and 19th of Lathallan and Henrietta Ouchterlony Valiant, on 2 February 1860.¹ She died on 4 June 1913.¹
     From 2 February 1860, her married name became Spens.

     George Mulock Spens was born in 1861.¹ He was the son of Arundel Thomas Spens and Maria Wright.² He died circa 1862, in infancy.¹
