     Captain Edward Augustus Stotherd was born circa 1833.2 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. unknown Stotherd.2 He married Frances Evelyn Deane on 12 February 1861 at St. Thomas's Church, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1,2 He died on 27 April 1863, drowned in the wreck of the Anglo-Saxon, near Cape Rae, Newfoundland.1,2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 60th Rifles.3
