Sir Cuthbert de Hoghton, 12th Bt. was born on 27 August 1880.1 He was the son of Sir James de Hoghton, 11th Bt. and Aimee Jean Grove.2 He married, firstly, Helen Macdonald, daughter of Major Duncan Macdonald, on 12 February 1917.1 He married, secondly, Philomena Simmons, daughter of Herbert Simmons, on 31 January 1944.1 He died on 5 December 1958 at age 78.1
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve and Royal Naval Air Service.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.1 He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Hoghton, of Hoghton Tower, and Walton le Dale, co.
