Sir George Pocock, 1st Bt. was born on 15 October 1765.2 He was the son of Admiral Sir George Pocock and Sophia Drake. He married Charlotte Mary Long, daughter of Edward Long and Mary Ballard Beckford, on 6 June 1791 at St. Marylebone, London, EnglandG.2
He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)3 He was created 1st Baronet Pocock [U.K.] on 18 August 1821.
