     Admiral Kenelm Somerville, 16th Lord Somerville was born on 14 November 1787.² He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. Hugh Somerville and Mary Digby.^3,4 He married Frances Louisa Hayman, daughter of John Hayman, on 3 September 1833.² He died on 19 October 1864 at age 76.²
     He succeeded as the 16th Lord Somerville [S., 1444] on 3 June 1842.¹ He gained the rank of Admiral in the Royal Navy.⁵

     Mary Bird was born on 18 December 1724.² She was the daughter of Thomas Bird and Elizabeth Martyn.^3,2 She married Abel Smith, son of Abel Smith and Jane Beaumont, on 5 September 1745.⁴ She died on 4 April 1780 at age 55.⁵
