     Clara Gonzaga was born in 1464.2 She was the daughter of Federico I Gonzaga, Marchese di Mantova and Margherita von Bayern.1,3 She married Gilbert de Bourbon, Comte de Montpensier, son of Louis I de Bourbon, Comte de Montpensier and Gabrielle de la Tour d'Auvergne, on 25 February 1481.2 She died in 1503.1

     Federico I Gonzaga, Marchese di Mantova was born on 25 June 1441 at Mantua, Italy.3 He was the son of Ludovico II Gonzaga, Marchese di Mantova and Barbara de Brandenburg.4,2 He married Margherita von Bayern, daughter of Albrecht III Herzog von Oberbayern-München and Anne von Braunschweig-Grubenhagen, on 10 May 1463.2 He died on 14 July 1484 at age 43 at Mantua, Italy.4,3
     He succeeded as the Marchese di Mantova in 1478.1
