     Katherine Mary Layard was born on 17 June 1898.¹ She was the daughter of Arthur Griffith Layard and Margaret Carnegy-Arbuthnott.¹

     Matilda Layard was born on 11 October 1836.¹ She was the daughter of General William Twistleton Layard and Catherine Anne Sargent.¹ She married Colonel William Joseph Gorman on 12 February 1856.¹ She died on 4 October 1888 at age 51.¹
     From 12 February 1856, her married name became Gorman.¹

     Colonel William Joseph Gorman married Matilda Layard, daughter of General William Twistleton Layard and Catherine Anne Sargent, on 12 February 1856.¹
     He had four sons and six daughters.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Ceylon Rifles.¹

     Catherine Layard was born on 5 March 1840.¹ She was the daughter of General William Twistleton Layard and Catherine Anne Sargent.¹ She married Major Campbell Knox Lock on 1 March 1860.¹ She died in 1906, without issue.¹
     From 1 March 1860, her married name became Lock.¹

     Major Campbell Knox Lock married Catherine Layard, daughter of General William Twistleton Layard and Catherine Anne Sargent, on 1 March 1860.¹ He died on 16 April 1896.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the 50th (Q.O.) Regiment.¹

     Emily Layard was born on 15 May 1842.¹ She was the daughter of General William Twistleton Layard and Catherine Anne Sargent.¹ She married William Carden Roe on 1 March 1864.¹ She died on 11 August 1894 at age 52.¹
     From 1 March 1864, her married name became Roe.¹

     He had one son and three daughters.¹ He gained the rank of Surgeon in the H.M. Medical Staff.¹

     Elizabeth Anna Layard was born on 26 June 1845.¹ She was the daughter of General William Twistleton Layard and Catherine Anne Sargent.¹ She died on 6 March 1863 at age 17.¹

     Frances Grace Layard was born on 14 September 1846.¹ She was the daughter of General William Twistleton Layard and Catherine Anne Sargent.¹ She married Philip A. Templer on 1 September 1866.¹
     From 1 September 1866, her married name became Templer.¹

     Philip A. Templer married Frances Grace Layard, daughter of General William Twistleton Layard and Catherine Anne Sargent, on 1 September 1866.¹
     He had one son and two daughters.¹ He was with the Ceylon Civil Service.¹
