     Anne Croftes was the daughter of Sir John Croftes and Mary Shirley.² She married Thomas Wentworth, 1st and last Earl of Cleveland, son of Henry Wentworth, 3rd Lord Wentworth and Anne Hopton, in 1611.¹ She died on 16 January 1637/38, leaving issue.^1,3
     From 1611, her married name became Wentworth.¹ After her marriage, Anne Croftes was styled as Countess of Cleveland on 5 February 1626.
