     Andrew Coats was born on 27 May 1862.¹ He was the son of Thomas Coats and Margaret Glen.¹ He married Isabella Alice Lyon, daughter of George Francis Lyon, 3rd of Kirkmichael and Emma Ramsay Stark, on 28 July 1903.¹ He died on 17 February 1930 at age 67.¹
     He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1901, with the Glasgow Yeomanry.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹

     Isabella Alice Lyon was the daughter of George Francis Lyon, 3rd of Kirkmichael and Emma Ramsay Stark.^2,1 She married Andrew Coats, son of Thomas Coats and Margaret Glen, on 28 July 1903.¹ She died, without issue.²
     From 28 July 1903, her married name became Coats.¹

     George Edward Allard married Annabelle Rosamond Williams-Freeman, daughter of William Peere Williams-Freeman and Kathleen Mabel Hamilton-Browne, on 17 March 1967.¹

     Janet Coats was born on 15 February 1844.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Coats and Margaret Glen.¹ She married James Tait Black in 1884.¹ She died on 15 November 1918 at age 74.¹
     From 1884, her married name became Black.¹
